A 1650 second edition printing of Pseudodoxia Epidemica: or, Enquiries Into Very many Received Tenents, and commonly Presumed Truths by Sir Thomas Browne. This work, commonly known as Pseudodoxia Epidemica or Vulgar Errors, refutes incorrect beliefs or superstitions of the 17th century; many future scientific journals would follow in its footsteps. Printed by A. Millar four years after its first edition in 1646, this copy is notated on its title page as ‘The Second Edition, Corrected and much Enlarged by the Author. Together with some Marginall Observations, and a Table Alphabeticall at the end.’ It is bound in full leather with a rebacked spine.

- to poor; fragile; front board detached; spine has been rebound; deterioration throughout cover and edges with cracking and discoloration; worn edges and bumped corners; damage to cap and tail; heavy page wear with toning, discoloration spotting, and some foxing; pages show creasing and tearing; cockled pages.
