1792 Document Signed by New Jersey Patriot John Witherspoon

A 1792 document signed by American Revolutionary Patriot John Witherspoon. Scottish-born Presbyterian minister and President of Princeton University Rev. John Witherspoon (1723-1794) served as Chaplain to the Continental Congress and signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. In 1792, Witherspoon, still serving as Princeton President despite failing eyesight, signed this manuscript along with New Jersey Governor and Constitution signer William Paterson, Continental Congress President Elias Boudinot, and five other dignitaries. The manuscript is presented in a black mat with a typewritten explanatory note, under glass in a black wooden frame with a gold-toned border and a wire hanger to the verso. The piece is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication.
