Two Paul Chidlaw Abstract Mixed Media Color Collagraph Prints

Item Details

Two mixed media color collagraph prints on paper by well-listed American Abstract Expressionist Paul Chidlaw (Cincinnati, 1900 – 1989). Each of the abstract prints features geometric shapes layered to create complex compositions. The prints are unsigned, and each is marked to the verso with a stamp from the artist’s estate. The prints are unframed, presented in an acetate sleeve, awaiting your choice of presentation. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

Chidlaw was born in Cleves, Ohio and studied at both the Cincinnati Art Academy and L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Fontainebleau, France. He returned to Cincinnati where he then taught at the Art Academy mentoring many students. He was considered a pioneer of the Abstract movement, at the time, and he remains one of Cincinnati’s best-loved native artists. His artwork is displayed at the Cincinnati Art Museum and Xavier University.
