Vintage Hand-Knotted Benlian Tabriz Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Tabriz wool area rug, attributed to the Benlian workshops. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, apricot, rose, teal, crimson, cobalt, mocha, indigo, and taupe. The ivory colored field features a lattice of palmettes, leafy and flowering vines, as well as four large flower filled vases. Framing the ornate field is a main unresolved border patterned with alternating palmettes, separated with floral clusters, as well as a pair of floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
