A hand-knotted Tufenkian Tibetan area rug. This wool rug offers an all-over floral design including shah abbasi and split leaf pendants to the grey field. The design elements are worked in burnt orange, umber, black, taupe, plum, magenta and violet-blue. Framing the rug is a wide magenta border with complimentary floral pendants in the field colors. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with a kilim skirt and long ivory wool fringe at either end. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
