Based in New York, contemporary artist James Biederman received his BA at the State University of New York at New Paltz and his MFA at Yale University. He also attended the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program from 1970 to 1971. The artist is known for his sculptures and abstract paintings exhibiting expressionistic planes of color and large gestural marks. Biederman’s work has been collected by numerous prestigious institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and the Centre Georges Pompidou, among many others.

- minor wear and scuffs throughout the frame; pastel rubbing throughout the margins; minor pastel speckles scattered throughout the matting; paper slightly visibly detached from matting to the lower right corner.
