Item Details
A hand-knotted Pakistani Persian-style carpet or stair runner. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of scarlet, camel and cream with prominent highlights in midnight blue. It begins with a vertical row of five cream-colored star medallions over a scarlet field with camel spandrels. Filling the field are arabesqued vines, flowers, palmettes and foliate motifs. Compound borders include a herati main border over cream. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with ivory wool warp fringe. A similar rug is offered in 18ATL032-011.
