A hand-knotted Pakistani Bokhara-style area rug. This wool rug features a design that draws on tribal influences in an abrashed palette of camel, cream, midnight blue, brick red and azure. It begins with a vertical row of hexagonal nested medallions, grounded in brick red and camel over cream. The medallions rest on a midnight blue field. Filling the medallions and field are images that include flowering plants, birds and other animals, along with pickets, diamonds and abstract motifs. Borders include images of phoenix amid flowers. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
