A Chippendale style armchair by Councill. This chair features a serpentine shaped crest rail over the upholstered back and seat that is flanked by arms with carved handholds. The seat rises above cabriole legs, with carvings to the knees, that terminate on carved pad feet. The seat is marked to the underside with a maker’s mark.
