A vintage silver plate double inkwell by British silversmith, Daniel & Arter. This piece has a rectangular tray with scrolled handles on either side, featuring a stag figurine in the center of two diamond-cut glass inkwells with silver-plated dome lids, stamped ‘EPNS’. The piece rests on four bun feet and is stamped on the underside with the Daniel & Arter maker’s mark, along with ‘E.P.N.S’ and ‘G6127’. The inkwell comes with an S. Kirk & Son sterling silver letter opener in the Repousse pattern with a floral design to the handle. The blade is stamped, ‘Kirk & Son Sterling’ and the approximate weight of the letter opener is 0.750 ozt.
