A mid-to-late 19th-century oil portrait painting on canvas by an anonymous artist. The piece depicts the portrait of a woman in a black dress with a lace-trimmed ruffled collar, accented with embroidered floral designs below the neckline. The unsigned work is presented without glass in an antique wooden period frame, likely original to the piece, with a gold tone finish and moulded floral embellishments, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
