George Wythe Document Signed 1804
Item Details
A document signed (extra handwriting penned in the hand of the signee) by American Revolutionary Patriot George Wythe. Virginia law professor and judge George Wythe (1726-1806) represented Virginia as a signer of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, and later as a professor at William and Mary College and on the Virginia Court of Chancery. In his latter position, Wythe signed this document vertically to the left margin on May 9, 1804. The letter is presented in a black mat with a typewritten explanatory note, under glass in a black wooden frame with a gold-toned trim and a wire hanger to the verso. April 18, 1804. 1 page. The piece is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication.
