Born in the Belgian Congo, Christian Peltenburg-Brechneff received his M.A. from the Royal College of Art in London. In addition, he was educated in Switzerland and the United States, and currently works in New York. Known for his expressionistic landscape paintings, his work has been collected by numerous institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Greece, and the Orange County Museum, among others.
