A Louis XVI style hand-painted oil on board and gilt trumeau mirror. The painted portion depicts an 18th century-styled French scene of people relaxing near a fountain. The painting is presented within a scrolled foliate frame against the sage green background of the mirror case, and is unsigned. Beneath the painting is a rectangular mirror, also framed within a window like frame accented with a shell to the top. Both the painting and mirror are framed within in a sage green painted wooden frame with an applied molding to the top and bottom of the frame. The back of the mirror is comprised of wood latticework and slats, and has a wire hanger for suspension on the wall.
Condition
- chips and craqulure to the artwork above the mirror, cracking up along the edge of the applied gilt framing.
