Thomas McKean Document Signed Land Grant October 10, 1806

A partly printed document signed Land Grant by American Revolutionary Patriot Thomas McKean. Delaware lawyer Thomas McKean (1734-1817) cast a Delawarian vote for independence and signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776, later serving as President of the Continental Congress and Governor of Pennsylvania. In this latter role, he signed this Pennsylvania land grant on vellum for Marcus Hook, today a town of its own right in southeastern Pennsylvania. The document is presented with a typewritten explanatory note in a black mat, under glass in a black wooden frame with a gold-toned trim and a wire hanger to the verso. Pennsylvania, October 10, 1806. DS 1 page, oblong large folio. The piece is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication.
