A pastel drawing on paper tilted Untitled (Browns in Vermont) by listed German artist Wolf Kahn (b.1927), created in 1961. This abstract composition depicts a landscape with pine trees and a body of water. The composition is rendered with expressive line work in hues of black and blue. It is signed by hand in red to the lower right corner. This work is presented behind glass in a white mat and wood frame. To the verso, is a label from Dennis Morgan Gallery in Kansas City, Missouri. Accompaning this piece are two biographies for the artist and a black and white photograph possibly inspiration for the composition.

Kahn was born in Stuttgart, Germany during 1927 and immigrated to the United States. After graduating high school he joined the Navy. under the GI Bill Kahn studied with Abstract Expressionist artist Hans Hofmann, later became Hafmann’s studio assistant. In 1950 Kahn enrolled in the University of Chicagao where he graducated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Kahn has been exhibited at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY; and he Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA; to name a few.

- discoloration to paper; warping to paper along upper edge; some marks to underside of acrylic particularly to left; some abrasions and wear to acrylic glass.
