Antique Ansonia Gingerbread Mantel Clock

Item Details

An antique Ansonia gingerbread style mantel clock. The wooden case features a shaped pediment with a five-pointed star applied to the crest. There are shaped pieces on each side of the glass door which is decorated with images of flowers, a peacock, birds, a vase with arabesque vines, and a seascape with shining sun and sail boat. The white painted face has black Arabic numerals, black hands, and two key arbors. There is a cast brass disk in the center. On the back of the clock is a handwritten card, ‘This is a centinal [sic]/model Ansonia clock made and sold /in 1876/during our 100th celebrate’. The clock comes with a replacement key.
