A typed letter signed by American author and ambassador Henry van Dyke. This typewritten letter, dated December 30, 1915, promises a signed form to the recipient, Rev. Paul R. Hickok of SE Washington DC. It is signed at the bottom by van Dyke, a renowned author and clergyman who at the time was serving as the wartime Ambassador to the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The letter is accompanied by a profile photograph of van Dyke along with an identifying piece of typewritten text, on a dark blue mat in a black wooden frame with a sawtooth hanger to the verso. The piece is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication.
