An Edward Everett autograph letter signed. Edward Everett (1794–1865), orator and politician, served as the 15th Governor of Massachusetts from January 13, 1836 to January 18, 1840. Everett spoke for two hours at Gettysburg before Abraham Lincoln gave his famous two-minute Gettysburg address. This letter dated May 9, 1848 is signed by Edward Everett; presented beneath glass, navy blue matting and encompassed by a black and gold tone frame with sawtooth hangers affixed to its verso.
