A hand carved West African bowl bearer sculpture. The bowl bearer shows a kneeling female presenting a bowl which she supports with her knees. The bowl bearer is a sacred position and the bowl itself of mboko is related to divination. She wears an elaborate hair styles of this culture which can take days to create. The basket has a customary rooster lid.

- minor surface wear; chip to the rooster nose.
