6' x 10' Fine Hand-Knotted Persian Kashan Rug
Item Details
A Persian Kashan rug. This floral wool rug is finely hand-knotted in a palette of pomegranate, midnight blue, cream, and azure. It begins with a curvilinear star pendant medallion grounded in azure, cream, and midnight blue. The medallion rests on a pomegranate-colored field, which is densely populated with palmettes, flowers, leaves, and vines. Spandrels are phased in midnight blue, cream, and azure. The field is framed by compound floral borders including a primary herati border grounded in midnight blue. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
