Victorian Carved Armchair with Needlepoint Upholstery

Item Details

An antique Victorian carved wood armchair. The chair has a spoon back, featuring an ornate pierced crest with carved roses. It has carved arms with padded and upholstered centers and carved serpentine supports, a serpentine seat rail with carved flowers, and carved cabriole legs. The padded arms, back, and seat are upholstered in pale green needlepoint with multicolored floral bouquets in a palette of pink, red, brown, yellow, olive and blue-green. There are no maker’s marks.

- some small chips, surface scratches, nicks, edge wear to wood; upholstery in overall good condition with some small stains, a few stray threads, light wear
