A mid-century graphite drawing on paper titled Pencil Drawing by listed Massachusetts and Rhode Island artist and sculptor Louise Wheelwright Damon (born 1889). The piece depicts a female figure standing with her back to the viewer, her head turned in side profile to the left. She is depicted wearing a fashionable head wrap and a loose light-colored dress worn slightly off the shoulder. The work is signed ‘LW.’ in graphite to the lower right; it is additionally titled and signed ‘Louise W Damon’ in ink to a Providence Art Club label adhered to the verso. It is matted in cream and presented unframed against a cardboard backing.
