An oil painting on board of a farm genre scene by listed American artist John E. Poti (1927-2016). Portrayed in hues of yellow, orange, and brown, this work features a farmer maneuvering harvesting equipment in a field. The work is signed ‘J. Poti’ to the lower right; it is presented in a rustic brown wood frame with a protruding off-white painted sight edge. The artist’s business card and a short statement are attached to the verso.

Based in Cleveland, John Poti was born in Hungary and came to the United States as an infant. He attended classes at the Cleveland Museum of Art, earned his BFA at Ohio Wesleyan University, and later graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Known for his bucolic landscapes and genre scenes, his work can be found in various public and private collections.
