1952 "Pictorial History of American Sports" Inscribed In Memory of Red Faber

A 1952 leather bound edition of Pictorial History of American Sports published by A.S. Barnes & Co. The back cover is gilt embossed ‘Compliments of Tony Piet Motor Sales, Inc.’ and the book features a handwritten inscription by former Chicago White Sox player Tony Piet in remembrance of Red Faber. The inscription reads, ‘In fond remembrance to a great athlete, a friend, a brother member of Baseball Anonymous, an Alumni of the White Sox, Urban ’Red’ Faber, From Tony Piet, October 15 1953’. The collection also includes an assortment of vintage baseball cards, some giant and others sealed in packaging.

Condition

- some wear to the spine and cover of the book; the book is inscribed in memory of Red Faber by Tony Piet; “Compliments of Tony Piet Motor Sales, Inc.” is gilt embossed to the back cover; some toning of the pages; some cards stored in original packaging; some stored in sleeves and some are loose.
