A graphite and charcoal drawing by G. F. Grant. This drawing on paper depicts a scene of a group of people wearing what appears to be 16th or 17th century Spanish attire and reading a government proclamation tacked in the town square. This piece has been rendered with intricate detailing and naturalistic form. It is signed ‘G.F. Grant’ to the lower left corner of the picture plane. This drawing is presented in a wooden frame, under glass, with a wire hanger to the verso.
Condition
- glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; worn frame finish; torn paper backing; light staining along edges.
