Antique Handcrafted "Crazy" Quilt Top

An antique Crazy quilt top. The quilt top is constructed from appliqued blocks using irregularly shaped pieces of fabric in a variety of colors and patterns. The quilt has embroidered embellishment throughout along the seams. A ribbon reading ‘Iowa Day/1908’ has been incorporated into the design. This work includes only the quilt top. It has not been assembled into a quilt as it is lacking the batting and backing.

Condition

- some of the silk fabrics have decayed, shredded, or disappeared.
