An antique European oil painting on canvas. This portrait image depicts a middle aged ma in a powdered grey wig with a white ascot and a black cloak. He gazes towards the viewer with an expression of self assurance upon his face. The unsigned work is presented in a gilded wood and gesso frame with ornate molded detail and a linen liner. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.

- inpainting to approximately 50% of surface, most of which is in the background; eleven patches to canvas; several gentle dents to canvas. minor chips to frame; light wear to frame finish.
