1864 Confederate States of America 1000, 500 and 100 Dollar Bonds

A collection of three Confederate States of America bonds, including a one hundred dollar bond from Richmond, VA dated February 17th, 1864. The large sheet illustrates the loan with a cartouche of an equestrian George Washington over the five rows of three dollar bonds (totaling 60) with a six per cent annum. The collection also includes five hundred dollar bond from Richmond, VA dated February 17th, 1864. The large sheet illustrates the loan with a cartouche of an equestrian George Washington over the five rows of fifteen dollar bonds (totaling 60) with a six per cent annum. These are presented with a thousand dollar bond from Richmond, VA dated February 17th, 1864. The large sheet illustrates the loan with a cartouche of an equestrian George Washington over the five rows of thirty dollar bonds (totaling 60) with a six per cent annum. Each is signed by the Register of the Treasury and the engraving is attributed to J. Archer, marked in plate to the lower left.
