A carved wood burl. This piece features an amorphous shape and depicts the carved and lightly polished face of a woman at its center. The carving seems to have been chipped directly from a tree before being made and does not include any legible maker’s marks.

Condition

- fair; crumbling around edges; splits, chips, and surface abrasions throughout, all due to natural qualities of the material; dusty.
