Hand-Knotted Pakistani Bokhara Area Rug

A large Pakistani Bokhara area rug. This wool rug is finely hand knotted in a palette of ruby, camel, ivory and black with midnight blue highlights. It features four vertical rows of Tekke medallions interspersed with smaller, Chemche-style guls over a ruby field. The field is framed by compound borders, including ten wraparound borders, most of which feature geometric patterns, and two elem horizontal panels, one above the field, one below, both featuring dyrnak diamond and kochak hooked motifs. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with a short mesh skirt and long ivory cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
