Sterling Silver Brooch and Serigraph After Henri Matisse "Nu Bleu I"

A circa 1970s sterling silver brooch and serigraph, both featuring designs after renowned French Modernist artist Henri Matisse (1869 – 1954). Featured is a serigraph on paper titled Nu Bleu I (Blue Nude I) after a 1952 paper cutout by Matisse, depicting an abstract female nude with right arm raised. The work is rendered in blue against a white ground and is marked with a facsimile signature of ‘Matisse’ in plate to the lower center. It is matted in blue and presented under glass in a wooden frame. Also included is a sterling silver brooch featuring the same cut-out image from Nu Bleu I. The pin includes a fastener with safety catch and is stamped ‘TP-56, 925, Mexico’ to the verso. The brooch has a total approximate weight of 0.690 ozt.

- toning and discoloration to paper; scratches and edge wear to frame; discoloration and tarnish to silver particularly to verso; shallow scratches throughout surface of brooch.
