A set of three 19th century hand-colored lithographs titled The Wedding Day, The Declaration, and The Lover’s Quarrel with the first two published by Nathaniel Currier (American, 1813-1888) and the latter by James Baillie (American, active 1838-1855). These prints depict two lovers on their way to the church, declaring their love for one another, and then later in an argument. Each has the title and publication information printed to the lower margin and is presented behind glass in a wood frame with wire to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- accretion to glass; scratches to frames; light wear to frame finishes; discoloration and stains to prints; fading to colors.
