Vintage Signed Handmade Greek Amphora

Item Details

A vintage signed handmade Greek amphora. The traditional style vessel features gilt decoration on a black gloss ground including a depiction of figures in ancient Greek style dress to the center, foliate motif bands to the collar and shoulder, and a Greek key band to the lower portion of the body. It has a flared rim, arched handles to opposite sides, a tapered ovoid body, and round footed base. The vase is marked ‘No. 728 Hand-made in Greece in 24K Gold B.D. Vassilopoulos’ to the underside.
