A terracotta sculpture titled Leda and the Swan after an original work by artist Jean-Jacques Feuchère (French, 1807–1852). This sculpture features the well known Greek mythological story of Zeus seducing Leda by turning into a swan. Depicted is a nude figure with a swan positioned on her stomach. It is signed in-mold along an outer edge and presented on a rounded base.
Condition
- toes chipped off of raised foot; residue on base at front; wear to bottom of base; raised foot has been re-adhered, appears to be once broke; surface and edge wear.
