Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This wool rug offers a serrated pole medallion to the center of an abrash taupe colored field. It features rectilinear designs in indigo, ivory, cranberry, periwinkle, gold, fern and azure framed by a barber pole border. Joining the field are complimentary spandrels boasting serrated devices. Framing the rug are boxed stylized shah abbasi and flower heads along with carnation meander and floral repeats. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with a short kilim and ivory cotton fringe at either end. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
