Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian tribal area rug. This wool rug offers a large medallion to the center field infilled with ashik pendants, pinwheel florets and stylized shah abbasi motifs. It is worked abrash tones of watermelon, ivory, tangerine, onyx and grey incorporating crenelated spandrels in complimentary designs. It has lobed flowers to the field verge with a reciprocating sawtooth guard border and a _leaf and calyx main border grounded in ivory. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing with short variegated fringe at either end.
