Hand-Knotted Persian Luri Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Luri wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a faintly abrashed palette of madder red, wine, azure, ivory, clementine, mauve, and apricot. The madder red to mauve toned field features three poles of hexagonal medallions each infilled with an aina kochak motif, along with florettes. The field also features triangular notches to the edges in alternating colors, and filler motifs of florettes, and cruciform motifs throughout. Framing the field is a main star and box patterned border, along with a pair of boxed diamond guard broders, and checked minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
