Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian Kazak wool accent rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated and slightly abrashed palette of cranberry, indigo, sepia, clementine, sky blue, ivory, mauve, and wheat. The indigo and sepia toned field features two large hooked octagonal medallions infilled with lappets, ram’s horns, and a main Bordjalou motif. The field also has both full and partial bordjalou motifs, as well as florettes. Framing the field is a main leaf and blossom border, and a checked minor border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
