Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Anatolian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of coral, apricot, black, goldenrod, terracotta, ivory, and slate. The field begins with a coral hued stepped lozenge, and features a large hexagonal pendant medallion infilled with rectilinear shaped palmettes and leaves, along with cloud bands, and quatrefoil florettes. The remainder of the field features a small black diamond lattice pattern, and sawtooth edges. Framing the field is a main quatrefoil florette border, as well as a geometrically patterned guard border. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and a short wool warp fringe to the ends.
