Hand-Knotted Central Asian Accent Rug

A hand-knotted Central Asian accent rug. This wool blend rug begins with a diamond medallion filled with smaller diamonds over a sapphire-blue background. Framing the medallion are crenellated diamond outlines with arrows; these rest on a field consisting of diagonal stripes in cream and deep midnight blue/black, with cross-diagonal lines of rust and teal specks. Compound borders include meander patterns over sapphire and apricot. The palette is deep midnight blue/black, sapphire, cream, apricot, teal and rust. Selvedges are overcast in rust, the rug finishing at each end with unbound wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
