Louis XVI-Style Carved and Upholstered Full-Size Headboard

A Louis XVI-style carved full-size headboard. The headboard has a pierced, arched top featuring an ornate carved basket of flowers, with a running carved frieze following the lines of the curves of the frame. It has mushroom-shaped finials on the posts, which are tapered and fluted. The center of the headboard has been padded and custom-upholstered in a yellow fabric with human figures and farm animals, along with sprigs of flowers, in a palette of yellow, gold, white, and pink, and the seams have yellow striped welting. The headboard rests on straight square legs, and there are no maker’s marks.
