Item Details
An antique German music cabinet. This hand-crafted cabinet features an overhung rectangular top with a waterfall edge, above a single hand-dovetailed drawer with a recessed panel, fitted with an ornate brass handle. The cabinet door features a raised panel with an intricate carving of a lyre, and it is fitted with an ornate skeleton key escutcheon and a lock with key. There are fluted and carved column-like accents flanking the cabinet door, with a raised panel below. The interior is fitted with vertical wood dividers and shelves, and the interior side of the door features an ornate, inlaid wood panel depicting a stylized vase with flowers, swags, and ribbons. The cabinet rests on bun feet, and it is marked ‘J. Eroschkus, Berlin N.O., made in Landsberger Straße (München)’.
