Antique Hand-Knotted Tekke Bokhara Area Rug
Item Details
An antique Tekke Bokhara area rug. This tribal wool and goat-hair rug is hand knotted in a palette of cinnamon, peach, terracotta, midnight blue, cream and camel. It features two vertical rows of Tekke octagonal medallions interspersed with kurbage medallions over a cinnamon field. The field is framed by six borders, including two reciprocal laleh abbasi borders in terracotta and camel and a main border featuring geometric rosettes and vines over midnight blue. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with unbound warp fringe made of goat or camel hair and wool. It is unlabeled.
