An antique Victorian stenciled and upholstered side chair. The chair features a scrolled top rail and a spindle back, with spindle side rails, a bowed seat rail, and straight, turned legs that are slightly curved at the bottoms. The chair has a black painted finish with gold painted accents including flower and leaf vine motifs, with gold accents to the spindles throughout. The seat is padded and upholstered in a newer, yellow cotton print fabric with images of pigs and flower sprigs, in a palette of yellow, white, green, red and pink. There are no visible manufacturer’s marks.
