A cast bronze sculpture titled Appeal to the Great Spirit after an original 1909 work by Cyrus Edwin Dallin (American, 1861 – 1944). This work depicts a Native American chief seated on his horse. His face is directed upward as his arms are extended outward. This reproduction is incised to the base C. E. Dallin. A foundry mark to the rear of the base reads “Art Bronze”; it is incised “28” to the right of the mark. This work was the fourth in a series titled “The Epic of the Indian”; the original is displayed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
