A large antique Persian Arak area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in an abrashed palette of ruby, black, pink, sapphire, cerulean and burgundy. It features a vase design incorporating sprays of flowers, lancet leaves, botehs, palmettes and vase forms over a ruby field. The field is framed by seven borders, including a herati main border grounded in black, filled with palmettes, rosettes and vines. Selvedges are overcast. Ends finish with applied fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
