Item Details
A circa 1863 wood-engraving Map of the Southern States created for the publication Harper’s History of the Rebellion. The map shows the towns, railroads, the coastline from Delaware to Texas, and the ship blockades of the south. It is surrounded by a decorative border, featuring portraits of Lincoln, Seward, General Scott, and General McClellan in the corners. An inset of ‘Florida. Southern Part.’ appears to the lower right. It is presented behind a black mat with a white border, under glass, in a gold-tone wood frame, and is ready to hang with a wire.
Condition
- toning and discoloration to print and mats. Horizontal and vertical fold creases. Tear to center at fold lines. Wear to frame finish.
