Antique English Chinoiserie Wall Cabinet

Item Details

A small, antique English Chinoiserie cabinet. The cabinet has an overhung top and straight sides, with one recessed paneled door fitted with a brass keyhole escutcheon with a pendant pull. It is painted throughout with gold colored floral and landscape scenes of water, bridges, human figures and rocky outcroppings with trees. The interior of the cabinet has a center shelf, and it rests on a simple molded base. There are no visible maker’s marks.

- surface marks, wear, fading of paint finish and some peeling and chipping in areas throughout; strong odor to interior; metal hardware has green oxidation; no key for lock
