A limited edition drypoint etching on paper titled Wye Oak by artist Erma Davis Bates (née Erma Helena Davis, 1886-1978). This carefully rendered scene depicts a huge tree towering over a nearby cottage and the fence surrounding its yard. The print is titled and signed ‘Erma H. Davis’ in plate and is hand-signed ‘Erma Davis Bates’ and numbered 39/375 to its lower edge. It is matted under glass in a wooden frame with a loop to its verso for hanging.

Condition

- discoloration on print and matting; wear to edges of frame due to age; warping throughout ground.
